For those looking to add Python to their arsenal of tools, there are a variety of college courses and online programs that can get you started in Python or help you to improve upon your current skills. Below is a list of three of the most popular Python courses available online.

Python for Everybody Specialization: Coursera

Coursera is a popular open online course provider that offers a plethora of college-level courses in a variety of subjects developed by over 150 universities worldwide. With Coursera, users can take courses to achieve a certificate or even a degree in the subjects they are interested in. Coursera also offers “specialization” courses designed by top companies like Google. Coursera offers several course options for learning Python. One of their most popular courses in Python for Everybody. Python for Everybody is an online course designed by the University of Michigan to teach the basics of programming computers using Python. This course is designed to be accessible to beginners with no experience. Python for Everybody is also part of a larger Python specialization certificate program. The course is taught in several languages and enrollees can earn a certificate in the specialization in as little as 8 months.

Python Basics for Data Science: EdX

EdX is an open online course platform created by Harvard and MIT. EdX offers many courses in a variety of subject matter developed by top universities and notable companies. EdX’s Python Basics for Data Science is a beginner-friendly course developed by IBM to teach users the basics of Python. IBM is a multinational technology corporation headquartered in the United States. The course is self-paced, with most enrollees completing it in around 3 weeks. Upon completion, enrollees can earn a “skill badge”, which is a verified digital credential that they can use to showcase the knowledge and skills they acquired from the course.

Learning Python (2020): LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is LinkedIn’s open online course platform designed to help professionals gain the skills necessary to land their next job. LinkedIn Learning offers a variety of courses taught by industry-leading professionals. Many courses offer certification upon completion, and enrollees can list their completed LinkedIn Learning certificates on their LinkedIn profile pages. LinkedIn Learning offers many courses in Python from beginner courses to more advanced ones. Learning Python (2020) is a beginner-level computer programming course designed to help interested individuals learn how to install and run Python on their computers as well as the basics of programming Python for tasks such as simple web development. Enrollees also learn how to work with dates and times, files, and web data within Python’s programming.
